Description

The initiative promotes investments for the modernization of port infrastructure and the sustainable development of fisheries areas in Schleswig-Holstein. Funding is provided for measures to optimize landing and working conditions, to strengthen direct marketing, as well as projects developed and implemented within local fisheries action groups (FLAG). Eligible expenses also include preparatory services for the establishment of a FLAG, the development of a strategy, and accompanying administrative and evaluation costs (management costs). The funds originate from the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) and allow for a 100 percent funding rate. Applications can be submitted continuously without a fixed deadline and are accepted until further notice.

Eligible applicants include commercial fisheries and aquaculture enterprises, municipalities, municipal associations and companies, fisheries cooperatives, producer organizations, employees in the fisheries sector, associations, environmental and nature conservation organizations, as well as scientific and technical institutions. Prerequisites are compliance with the approved EMFAF program 2021–2027, secured overall financing, and a five-year commitment period. For sustainable development projects, selection by the respective FLAG must have taken place. Each project is evaluated based on the EMFAF selection criteria and must meet the established minimum score threshold. Applications must be submitted prior to project commencement to the State Office for Agriculture and Sustainable Rural Development, Fisheries Funding Department, and can be processed digitally via the Schleswig-Holstein Service Portal.
