Description
The Kämpgen Foundation supports non-profit organizations, public institutions, foundations, interest groups, and associations in the greater Cologne area with earmarked grants to promote inclusion and participation. The focus is on funding projects that improve the quality of life for children, adolescents, and adults with physical, intellectual, psychological, or sensory disabilities. Recognized entities include religious orders, church congregations, and accredited providers of disability services whose statutory purpose aligns with the foundation’s guiding principle. Eligible measures range from investments such as equipping barrier-free facilities or acquiring passenger and commercial vehicles to project funding in the areas of education, vocational training, mobility, leisure, culture, and sports. The foundation grants a funding rate of up to 80% of eligible expenses, provided that public funds have been exhausted and the applying organization demonstrates a minimum own contribution of 20%.
Applications are submitted exclusively online via the digital form. Prior to the commencement of the measure, a detailed concept, a cost and financing plan, as well as a rejection notice from public funding agencies must be submitted. For projects up to €10,000, a deadline of eight weeks before the project start applies; larger projects follow fixed deadlines in spring and autumn. Selection is based on criteria such as sustainability, degree of innovation, alignment with the foundation’s purpose, and the viability of the financing plan. Upon approval, up to 80% of the funds are initially disbursed; the remaining financing is released after submission of the proof of use. Through this continuous funding practice, the Kämpgen Foundation contributes to realizing an inclusive society and enabling equal participation for people with disabilities.
