Support for Daycare Centers

The funding of daycare centers in Carinthia is aimed at non-profit organizations and public institutions that, as state-approved daycare centers, care for children and youth in accordance with legal regulations. The focus is on financial support for the maintenance and operation of these facilities to ensure high-quality early childhood education and care. The subsidy is granted continuously and covers expenses in the areas of education, labor & social affairs, as well as training and further education. Eligible providers must document their care services through proof of care days, children cared for with their weekly and monthly care hours, as well as the payment of legally prescribed parental contributions. Timely submission of quarterly reports and a financial statement with a complete overview of income and expenses by May 31 of each year are prerequisites for the continuous disbursement of funds.

For the application, approval as a daycare center by the state of Carinthia is required. Additionally, evidence of the care ratio in the form of staff lists, already applied for and received subsidies from third parties, as well as all income and expenses must be submitted. Required documents include, among others, quarterly reports, submission of the financial statement, and receipts related to cared-for children, care hours, and parental contributions. The application deadline has been continuously open since January 1, 2014, and ends on December 31, 2026.
