Description

The promotion of open youth work in Tyrol supports non-profit organizations and public bodies that implement low-threshold services for children and young people. As a non-repayable multiple grant, it enables the coverage of personnel costs for pedagogically active professionals at a rate of €570/hour. This creates incentives to employ qualified staff long-term in open youth work facilities and to strengthen regional youth work comprehensively. The funding line is announced nationwide but specifically applies to projects and services in Tyrol and is continuously available until 31.12.2027.

Eligible for funding are associations, municipalities, and other legal entities that operate open youth work facilities as legal carriers. A prerequisite is that the employees have completed pedagogical training, a recognized basic course, or can demonstrate at least 240 hours of practical experience in extracurricular child and youth work. The working methods must be content-wise oriented towards the “Handbook Open Youth Work 1.0” by POJAT and the “Protection Concept Open Youth Work in Austria.” For cross-municipal services, a written cooperation agreement is required, and opening hours must be documented in a comprehensible ratio to the requested personnel cost hours. The application must include a pedagogical concept, a detailed cost calculation with a financing plan, a list of employees, as well as proof of qualification and content orientation. The funding period must be applied for before the project starts; retroactive applications are excluded.
