Funding of the Ruth and Willi Biermann Foundation

The Ruth and Willi Biermann Foundation supports intergenerational individual projects in North Rhine-Westphalia that specifically target children and adolescents with life-threatening oncological and cardiological diseases, as well as people with dementia and their relatives. Non-profit organizations and public institutions in the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region, particularly in the district of Herford, are eligible for funding. The goal is to sustainably improve the quality of life of those affected through targeted grants and to ensure qualified care. Applications can be submitted year-round, provided the project location is within the specified regions and the focus is on oncological or cardiological care for children or on dementia support and care. Funding covers material costs, equipment expenses, as well as therapy and care services to equip project initiatives with the necessary resources in an uncomplicated manner.

Organizations and institutions that design services for affected children and adolescents or seniors with dementia will find a reliable source of funding here for their individual projects. Measures in senior and nursing facilities aimed at creating a dementia-sensitive environment can also be supported. The foundation annually uses the proceeds from its endowment capital and raised donations to implement projects in the region with a funding budget of approximately €60,000–70,000. Through the intergenerational approach, networks are strengthened, community is promoted, and the daily lives of those involved are sustainably enriched.
