Description

The Schöpflin Foundation provides institutional grants across Europe to non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, and companies to strengthen democracy, the social economy, and education. Within its ongoing program areas, the foundation supports innovative approaches in the fields of civic engagement for social cohesion, vocational training & education, research & innovation, as well as consulting & business financing. Applications can be submitted at any time, provided the organization is based or operates within the EU and has a civil society organizational form with a focus on innovation or participation. The multi-year funding prioritizes the sustainable establishment of forward-looking structures and projects that increase democratic participation, create learning and participation spaces, and develop responsible economic and social models.

The allocation of grants is guided by clearly defined evaluation criteria such as the degree of innovation, sustainability aspects, and contribution to democratic participation. Beneficiaries include NGOs, social enterprises, and associations that address societal challenges with creative concepts—such as by creating stable infrastructure, promoting participatory educational formats, or developing ecological-social economic models. Experts accompany the process in a partnership approach and support the long-term establishment of projects within their respective impact contexts. Interested initiatives thus receive social venture capital grants and access to a learning network that independently strengthens the sector. Further details on application procedures and funding areas can be found on the Schöpflin Foundation’s website.
