Description
Since its founding in 1995, the Sparkassenstiftung Weimar – Weimarer Land has been promoting social life in Thuringia by supporting innovative, non-profit projects. Projects from the fields of art and culture, monument preservation, sports, science and research, nature and environmental protection, local heritage and customs, youth welfare, as well as public health and social services in Weimar and the Weimarer Land district are considered. The foundation, which operates as a legal entity under civil law, provides a grant aimed at regional development and strengthening civic engagement. The application process is conducted entirely online: applicants submit a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, and proof of non-profit status from the tax office to qualify for funding.
Funding recipients, who operate as non-profit associations or legal entities, benefit from the support provided their project is implemented in Weimar or the Weimarer Land district. Applications are evaluated by a board of trustees that decides on funding requests twice a year – in March/April and October/November. In addition to the regional relevance of the project, an appropriate own contribution is also used as a criterion. Funding is not provided for ongoing personnel or material costs, nor are construction or renovation measures that do not directly serve the funding purpose considered. The set deadlines, February 15, 2025, and September 15, 2025, allow sufficient time for a well-founded application. Overall, the initiative represents an excellent opportunity to realize forward-looking projects in the cultural, social, and sports sectors and thus sustainably support regional development.
