Description
The STARKE KINDER – Gertrude and Hannelore Klier Foundation continuously promotes the sporting and musical participation of children and adolescents from low-income families in Bremen. Through financial grants, the foundation enables, among other things, the coverage of rental fees for instruments, the purchase of equipment (such as strings, ballet shoes, or sportswear), participation in training camps, as well as the payment of tuition and club fees. The support aims to foster the creative and physical development of young people by helping them build self-confidence, endurance, and teamwork skills within teams and ensembles. Applications can be submitted year-round and are processed following a personal consultation, which can be conducted easily in writing, by phone, or on-site.
Funding is provided to children and adolescents residing in Bremen, especially from the districts of Bremen-Hastedt and Bremen-Osterholz, who would otherwise have no access to sports or music programs due to their family’s financial situation. Selection is based on financial need and place of residence; exceptions allow for support beyond the age of 18. Through prompt and uncomplicated application procedures, the foundation opens new opportunities for personal development in the areas of sports, music, education, and social participation—without fixed deadlines.
