Description
The Bishop Badurad Foundation supports time-limited projects in the fields of music, art, and culture within the Archdiocese of Paderborn with grants covering up to 90% of eligible expenses. Funding is provided for personnel costs, material and investment expenses of ecclesiastical corporations under public law as well as other natural and legal persons upon recommendation of the Archbishop. Priority is given to funds allocated to the cathedral music at the High Cathedral of Paderborn, although other cultural initiatives in North Rhine-Westphalia are also welcome. A prerequisite is that the project is based within the territory of the Archdiocese of Paderborn, has not commenced prior to application, and that the total financing, including a minimum own contribution of 10%, is already secured. A structured concept, a comprehensive project description, and written acknowledgment of the funding regulations form the basis for evaluation.
Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and may be submitted in writing at any time. Each proposal is assessed according to the criteria of likelihood of success, effectiveness, cost-efficiency, and statutory purpose; projects that have already started before application are excluded. A complete application package must include, in addition to the concept and objectives, a financing plan with own contribution, assurance of appropriate use of funds, and proof of total financing. The management obtains expert opinions and prepares a recommendation for the board of trustees, which makes the final decision. Upon positive resolution, a grant approval notice is issued, after which the funds can be drawn by bank transfer and must subsequently be documented by a usage report.
