Description
The Foundation of the City of Speyer for Art and Culture supports the cultural life in Speyer through targeted grants for the acquisition, preservation, and restoration of cultural assets as well as their public presentation. In particular, it promotes the Speyer Art Association in operating the exhibition spaces in Flachsgasse and Kleine Pfaffengasse. Since its establishment in December 1999, the foundation has acted as a legally recognized municipal foundation under public law and pursues exclusively charitable purposes in accordance with the tax code. Through close cooperation with municipal institutions and artists, it significantly contributes to preserving cultural treasures and making them accessible to a broad audience.
Non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private individuals based or active in Speyer are eligible for funding. Grants can be applied for on an ongoing basis; however, there is no legal entitlement. All initiatives and associations dedicated to the preservation and presentation of cultural assets are eligible to apply. Eligible expenses include the acquisition and restoration of objects, the organization of exhibitions, and the ongoing operation of the exhibition spaces.
