Funding by the Foundation of Volksbank Lübbecker Land and Volksbank Schnathorst "From People for People of Our Region"

The Foundation of Volksbank Lübbecker Land and Volksbank Schnathorst "From People for People of Our Region" has been supporting sustainable projects in the rural Lübbecker Land (North Rhine-Westphalia) since 2010. Through targeted grants, initiatives, associations, and non-profit organizations are supported that strengthen social cohesion, enhance local quality of life, and provide aid for self-help. The focus is on measures in the areas of regional development, democracy and civic engagement, agriculture, as well as work and social affairs. The foundation acts as a start-up facilitator and partner for projects with a clear project character and long-term usage claims. Through regular funding examples – ranging from sports and school projects to equipping with life-saving defibrillators – it has already set numerous impulses and brought the motto "From People for People of Our Region" to life.

Eligible to apply are private individuals, initiatives, associations, and public institutions based or active in the Lübbecker Land. A prerequisite for funding is a concrete project character, demonstrable sustainability aspects, and a clear focus on aid for self-help. Funding applications can be submitted at any time; there is no deadline. The application must include a completed funding application form, a detailed project description, and a cost plan. A board of trustees composed of committed citizens from all subregions of the Lübbecker Land decides on the allocation in consultation with the foundation’s executive board. The foundation thus offers an uncomplicated opportunity to realize non-profit or charitable projects and to strengthen local engagement in the long term.
