Description

The funding provided by the Stiftung Umwelt und Entwicklung NRW is aimed at non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations based or operating in North Rhine-Westphalia that demonstrate commitment to sustainable development. The focus is on projects that contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda, particularly in the areas of environmental and nature conservation, climate protection, education for sustainable development, social cohesion, and development cooperation. Applications for projects up to 10,000 euros can be submitted at any time, while larger funding requests are reviewed four times a year according to fixed deadlines. Eligible expenses include personnel and material costs, travel expenses, as well as costs for public relations. Evaluation is based on the criteria of contribution to the 2030 Agenda, sustainability aspects, and impact orientation.

The Stiftung Umwelt und Entwicklung NRW supports civil society initiatives and associations in realizing local projects with high impact potential. A prerequisite for funding is proof of non-profit status or a public-benefit-oriented purpose, as well as a clear project reference to sustainable development. In addition to the application form, a detailed project description, a financing plan, and proof of eligibility to apply must be submitted. The flexible allocation of funds up to 10,000 euros enables spontaneous project ideas, while ambitious projects with greater financial needs can be prepared in time for the submission deadlines. The foundation’s goal is to strengthen civil society engagement and to advance the implementation of concrete sustainability goals in North Rhine-Westphalia through targeted grants.
