Description

The Waldorf Education Foundation in North Rhine-Westphalia provides permanent financial grants to strengthen the Free Waldorf School Essen in its educational orientation while simultaneously promoting school and infrastructure projects in needy regions worldwide. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations and public institutions that implement Waldorf education and pursue innovative approaches in education, training, and curative education. The funds can be flexibly used for construction measures, equipment, and ongoing operating costs, for example, to renovate specialized classrooms, build sports facilities, or equip language and science learning workshops. A funding rate of up to 100% and the possibility to apply at any time enable tailored support for project-related initiatives.

In addition to the long-term securing of the school infrastructure in Essen, the foundation specifically supports Waldorf institutions in developing and emerging countries. Projects are funded in the areas of agriculture & rural development, infrastructure & urban planning, as well as international development cooperation. Examples range from curative education schools in Kyiv to educational initiatives in Peru, Kyrgyzstan, and Africa, where school and training concepts for disadvantaged children and youth are implemented. Through close cooperation with local sponsors and experts, the funding not only contributes to improving learning and living conditions but also makes a contribution to sustainable regional development and strengthening local communities.
