Description
The Umverteilen! Foundation for a Solidary World enables non-profit associations, interest groups, and civil society organizations in Germany to receive project-based funding in the areas of human rights, social justice, international solidarity, political education, equality, as well as environmental and climate protection. Informal applications can be submitted year-round through the decentralized working groups. Each working group has its own budget and decides on funding requests at intervals of four to six weeks, with decision-making processes taking up to ten weeks. Institutional permanent funding and individual case assistance are not supported; the focus is on completed, self-contained projects that are implemented through donation receipts, grants, or in-house projects commissioned by the foundation.
Typically, the funding amount rarely exceeds €10,000 per project. Applicant organizations should plan to submit their application before the project starts and include in the application a self-presentation of the project sponsor, a detailed project description (objectives, target groups, approach, timeline), a complete cost calculation, and a financial plan including in-kind contributions, income, and already applied-for grants. Material resources and project-bound personnel costs are eligible for funding; ongoing funding and emergency aid are excluded. Each funded measure must be conclusively documented by a comprehensive project report and a transparent financial statement including supporting documents. In this way, the foundation contributes to strengthening democratic participation and ecological responsibility across diverse fields of action.
