Expansion of business-related infrastructure in Saarland with funds from the joint task "Improvement of the Regional Economic Structure" (GRW) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for the development, expansion, and revitalization of industrial and commercial areas, for connecting businesses to transport networks, for the creation of commercial centers and port infrastructures, as well as for the development of regional development concepts and the financing of planning and consulting services.

Description
The Saarland Ministry of Economic Affairs, Innovation, Digitalization and Energy supports the targeted expansion of business-related infrastructure with funding from the Joint Task for the Improvement of Regional Economic Structures (GRW) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Eligible to apply are municipalities, municipal associations, as well as non-profit legal or natural persons who intend to carry out planning and construction measures in Saarland for the development, expansion, and revitalization of industrial and commercial sites. Funding is provided, among other things, for the development of commercial areas, the construction or expansion of transport connections with direct links to businesses, the establishment and modernization of port infrastructure, as well as the development of regional concepts by experts. Grants cover up to 70% of the demonstrated funding gap, with a maximum of €25,000 available for development concepts and up to €50,000 for planning and consulting services.
Conditions for approval include the implementation of the project in Saarland, proof of planning and approval law requirements, and the right of disposal over the areas to be funded. Overall financing must be secured, and the use of the infrastructure must correspond to the funding purpose for at least 15 years. A particular focus is placed on the long-term occupancy by companies that generate a primary effect. Applications must be submitted before the start of the measure to the responsible department of the Ministry. This funding provides lasting impulses for the competitiveness and innovative strength of rural and urban regions in Saarland.
