Description

The funding initiative “Promotion of Cooperation in Rural Areas” in Baden-Württemberg is aimed at companies, educational institutions, interest groups, associations, and public bodies that wish to jointly implement forward-looking project ideas in agriculture, forestry, or the food industry as well as in horticulture and viticulture. Through legally recognized Operational Groups (OG) of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP) “Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability,” up to 100% of eligible expenses can be financially supported. Alternatively, a pilot project funding pathway offers grants ranging from 40% to 75% for investments, ongoing cooperation costs, direct costs, and accompanying project studies – up to a maximum of €500,000 per project. The overarching goal is to increase productivity and sustainability through the transfer of new processes, technologies, and services in rural development.

For an application, having a registered office or branch in Baden-Württemberg is a prerequisite. The operational cooperation must be fixed in a written cooperation agreement among all OG members and must consist of at least two partners from agriculture, horticulture/viticulture, forestry, upstream or downstream sectors, consulting firms, associations, research institutions, or public bodies. Projects must be described with sufficient demonstration of innovation potential and fully implemented in Baden-Württemberg. Investments and ongoing expenses for joint research and development as well as accompanying project studies are eligible for funding. The two-stage selection process is conducted by the Stuttgart Regional Council and an EIP selection committee at the Ministry of Food, Rural Areas and Consumer Protection Baden-Württemberg.
