Description
The funding measure in Carinthia is aimed at private individuals, interest groups, or fishery district associations and is continuously offered as a grant. It supports measures to improve fish habitats, strengthen populations of native fish species, and conduct scientific investigations. Eligible applicants must submit a detailed project proposal along with a financial plan and a confirmation from an expert to the responsible fishery district committees by the end of February each year at the latest; additionally, a personal contribution of at least 50% of the project costs must be provided. This is followed by a technical assessment by the committees by the end of April, and subsequently a consultation in the State Fisheries Advisory Board. The goal of this direct funding is the sustainable restoration of ecologically valuable water structures.
The program covers the thematic areas of environmental and nature conservation, research & innovation, agriculture & rural development, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection, and grants a funding rate of 50% of the eligible expenses. Required documents include comprehensive project descriptions and financial plans, which must be submitted with detailed invoices after a positive funding approval for disbursement. The funding administration office of Department 10 – Agriculture and Forestry, Rural Areas of the Carinthian State Government Office ensures the control of fund usage and supports applicants throughout the entire process.
