The goal is to individually support promising innovative startup projects already in the pre-foundation phase, to promote the potential of business ideas and entrepreneurial personalities at universities, and to establish a culture of self-employment and entrepreneurial thinking in Saxony-Anhalt.

Description
The promotion of startup transfer at the universities of the state of Saxony-Anhalt supports promising, technology- and knowledge-based startup projects already in the pre-foundation phase. With funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), public universities can receive grants of up to 100% of eligible expenses – up to a maximum of €200,000 per project. The goal is to unlock innovative business ideas and founder potential, foster an entrepreneurial mindset, and sustainably increase the number of academic startups in Saxony-Anhalt. The initiative targets graduates who wish to develop their inventions or services to market maturity and offers a platform to transform research results into successfully implementable business models.
Funding covers, among other things, personnel costs of the founding team (up to three persons), material and consumable expenses, as well as project-related business coaching by experienced mentors. Applicant universities must conclude a contractual agreement with the founders and ensure mentor support. The company foundation must generally be implemented in Saxony-Anhalt, excluding contracts in the Third Party sector. Evaluation is based on innovation content, implementation plan, and market access. The selection process began on December 11, 2023 and runs until no later than June 30, 2027. With clear milestones, detailed concepts, and expert guidance, the program creates a tailored environment for a successful pre-foundation phase.
