Description
The Free State of Bavaria supports sports clubs in Bavaria in the creation and maintenance of club-owned sports facilities through project-related grants. Measures such as new construction, expansion, conversion, as well as comprehensive repair and modernization work are funded, provided these are necessary for the immediate sports operations of the members. Eligible to apply are non-profit member clubs of the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) with legal personality, who can demonstrate ownership or a long-term usage right to the existing sports facility and substantiate a sports-related need. For successful funding, a personal contribution of at least 10% of the eligible costs is also required. The amount of funding ranges from 20% to 30% depending on the funding rate – without loans up to 20% in the small application procedure, and up to 20% grant and up to 10% loan in the regular procedure. Ongoing applications via the digital portal verein360 allow for flexible submission throughout the year.
For the application, among other documents, a cost estimate according to DIN 276, a financing plan, an official land register excerpt or usage contract, as well as a site plan are required. For projects requiring building permits, the building permit decision and plans must also be submitted. Economic efficiency and financing security, compliance with budgetary regulations, and the sports-related need constitute the central evaluation criteria. After approval of the early commencement of measures, the awarding is usually carried out directly by the club, followed by implementation and accounting based on prescribed forms. Through this funding, clubs receive a reliable basis to plan and realize modern, needs-oriented sports infrastructure – a crucial component for long-term vibrant sports communities in Bavaria.
