Description
The state funding for settlement water management in Tyrol offers investment grants to public institutions, interest groups, cooperatives, and private individuals for projects related to municipal drinking water supply, wastewater disposal (sewerage, wastewater treatment including sludge treatment and utilization), as well as for advanced sludge treatment facilities and plants for energy recovery from biogas. Additionally, studies, concepts, and measures for the implementation of digital pipeline information systems are supported. With a total budget of 2.4 million euros, the state of Tyrol supports initiatives aimed at modernizing infrastructure, achieving ecological objectives, and unlocking energy efficiency potentials. The funding rate ranges between 10% and 40% of eligible investment costs, depending on income- and cost-related surcharge factors. Applications can be submitted continuously and are valid indefinitely.
A prerequisite for approval is the submission of the application before the commencement of measures to the responsible office of the state government, as well as compliance with the Federal Funding Guidelines 2016 for municipal settlement water management. Additionally, the funding procedure requires a water law permit, proof of financing (own funds and funding rate), and a cost and performance accounting according to ÖWAV/ÖVGW standards. Eligible expenses include construction costs for water supply and wastewater facilities, sludge treatment plants, planning and construction supervision services, studies and concept drafts, as well as plants for energy generation from biogas. Interior installations, ongoing operating costs, in-house services, and administrative fees are excluded. The evaluation considers ecological compatibility, economic feasibility, and alternative analyses. Required documents include the SIWA application form, the technical data collection sheet, project description, official permits, financing and fee plans, as well as a detailed cost and performance accounting.
