Description
The "Funding for Property Acquisition to Eliminate Bottlenecks on State Roads" supports Lower Austrian municipalities in removing road narrowing within the state road network. As direct, non-repayable grants, one third of the expert appraised property values as well as the demolition and disposal costs are funded, with the aim of optimizing the road cross-section and enabling improved design of ancillary facilities – from pedestrian and bicycle paths to parking strips and drainage systems. The state funding is exclusively available to public institutions in Lower Austria and can be applied for continuously. The financial coverage by the Lower Austrian Road Service and the timing of the complete application submission determine the approval.
For a funding commitment, the application must be submitted by a Lower Austrian municipality using the prescribed form. The project area must be located within the municipality’s own territory and be in the public interest according to § 12a of the Lower Austrian Road Act 1999. Submission must include, in addition to the completed funding application form, an excerpt from the financing estimate, an appraisal of the building value by the responsible regional construction office, and at least three offers for demolition and disposal work. Land acquisitions are excluded. Funding applications can be submitted without limitation from 07.10.2024 onwards at any time and will be processed by the Office of the Lower Austrian State Government, Department of State Road Construction and Administration (ST4).
