Funding in connection with cultural plant protection in Carinthia

In Carinthia, this permanent grant measure has been offering targeted support to private plant owners in crop protection since January 1, 2014. The goal is to maintain healthy stocks through partial or full cost reimbursement for the removal of infested plants and the acquisition of healthy crops. Only expenses incurred as part of officially mandated measures to contain pests or diseases (for example, fire blight) are eligible for funding. Thus, the grant makes a significant contribution to ensuring agricultural productivity and protecting the environment and natural habitats in the region.

A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is the timely submission of the application before the start of the planned protective measures, as well as a professional inspection by experts. After receipt of the funding approval, implementation can proceed; processing is handled by the Office of the Carinthian State Government, Department 10 – Agriculture and Forestry, Rural Areas, which also monitors the proper use of funds. Eligible expenses include both the costs for the professional removal of infested plants and the replacement costs for newly acquired crops. This program is aimed at all individuals obligated by official order to carry out plant protection measures and contributes significantly to energy efficiency, climate protection, and the sustainable use of natural resources.
