Description
The continuously offered funding for international projects in the arts and cultural sector by the Arts and Culture Section of the Federal Ministry in Vienna has supported cross-border initiatives in the fields of culture as well as culture & media since 01.01.2013. With the aim of sustainably anchoring contemporary art in society and ensuring stable framework conditions for artists, international exhibitions, concerts, symposia, and comparable formats are funded. The annual budget amounts to approximately €0.78 million and is granted as partial funding in the form of a grant, flexibly according to the project scope. This measure contributes to further developing the diversity of artistic impulses and making them accessible to a broad public.
Eligible applicants are interest groups or other associations, private individuals, non-profit organizations, as well as public institutions based in Vienna. Awards are made continuously, taking into account the relevance for the development of Austrian art and cultural life, which serves as a key evaluation criterion. The general application form must be submitted for the application, along with a convincing project concept; the evaluation is conducted by a panel of experts from the Section. The funding requirements and detailed criteria are documented in the transparency portal. Thanks to the flexible submission deadline, project plans can be initiated independently of the budget year and implemented according to needs.
