The Possehl Foundation supports, through the funding initiative "Alleviation of Social Hardship", especially needy individuals as well as non-profit organizations in Lübeck within Schleswig-Holstein. The goal is immediate assistance in acute emergencies and the strengthening of institutions and initiatives that support socially disadvantaged people through material resources and services. Through a one-time grant of up to €10,000, expenses for living costs, rent, and other individual case aids can be covered. The foundation covers up to 100% of eligible costs to relieve people in financial distress and to prevent social exclusion.
Eligible to apply are private individuals residing in Lübeck with proven financial hardship, as well as non-profit projects that offer concrete assistance to needy fellow citizens. A prerequisite for approval is the timely submission of all required documents, including:
- Household overview and proof of income
- Rental certificate or lease agreement
- Bank statements from the last three months
- Cost estimates and expert reports (if available)
Applications can be submitted year-round: For decisions by the working committee, documents must be received in the funding portal or via PDF form at least three weeks before the respective meeting date.
