Description
The promotion of agri-environmental and climate measures – biodiversity and soil protection supports agricultural enterprises as well as other eligible actors in the Berlin and Brandenburg regions in implementing voluntary management commitments. The objective of the measure is to curb the decline of biological diversity, sustainably strengthen ecosystem services, and improve soil protection. Funding is provided for yield losses, additional expenses, and transaction costs incurred through nature conservation-oriented grassland management, grazing, arable farming, orchard maintenance, the cultivation of large-seeded legumes, or organic farming methods. The type of funding is a fixed-amount grant awarded as a subsidy. If the budget allocated for biodiversity measures of 6 million euros is exceeded, projects will be evaluated according to a points system.
Eligible participants are companies and private individuals who have agricultural land of at least 0.3 hectares recorded in the digital field block cadastre and enter into voluntary management commitments in accordance with the AUKM guideline. To apply by December 31 of each year prior to the start of the commitment, the completed application form, proof of the field block cadastre, and either a consultation protocol or proof of nature conservation advice must be submitted. The program runs until December 31, 2029, offering an attractive opportunity to receive remuneration for ecological services on agricultural land while actively contributing to climate protection and the preservation of important habitats.
