Description

The Free State of Bavaria supports non-profit state associations of people with disabilities in their statewide care and advocacy work with a purpose-bound grant. The aim is to particularly promote smaller, predominantly volunteer-driven organizations with limited financial resources in continuing and expanding their care services. Eligible expenses include necessary personnel costs and material expenses directly related to counseling, information, public relations, as well as the organization of conferences, training sessions, and meeting activities. This grant thus makes an important contribution to improving the participation and self-determination of people with disabilities in all administrative districts of Bavaria. The funding is provided by the State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs and administered through the Center Bavaria Family and Social Affairs (ZBFS). Applications can be submitted at any time; initial approval requires the consent of the State Ministry.

Eligible for funding are legally capable, non-profit recognized state disability associations with at least two years of activity, a membership between 100 and 20,000, and an even regional distribution of members. The organization must regularly offer comprehensive counseling and care services and collect membership fees. Depending on the number of members, the funding amount is graduated up to a maximum of €13,200 per year. For the application, in addition to the completed ZBFS form, a detailed description of the association’s activities, information on the total number of members and their regional distribution, as well as a project description of the care tasks must be attached. With this funding, state associations receive valuable support to stabilize and sustainably expand their professional services.
