Promotion of Cargo Bikes in Straubing

The city of Straubing supports companies, start-ups, freelancers, non-profit organizations, as well as private individuals with their registered office or main residence in Straubing in the acquisition or leasing of nearly new cargo bikes with a minimum payload of 40 kg. As a voluntary municipal service, 25% of the acquisition or leasing costs (over a minimum contract period of 36 months) are subsidized, with a maximum funding amount of €750. The goal is to reduce emissions through emission-free transport solutions and to strengthen sustainable mobility within the city area. For each private application, one vehicle can be funded during the funding period. Subsequent modifications to bicycles and e-bikes are excluded, and the binding period extends to 36 months.

Applications are accepted continuously as long as budget funds are available. The following documents must be submitted for approval: the fully completed funding application, a copy of the purchase or leasing contract including the frame number, as well as proof of payment in the form of receipts or bank statements. The funding decision is made within the available budget; there is no legal entitlement. The funded cargo bikes must be marked with a sticker provided by the city during the binding period. This funding offer is aimed at all mobility actors in Straubing who wish to implement environmentally friendly transport alternatives and thereby make an active contribution to climate protection and energy-efficient infrastructure.
