Description
Funding for Non-Publicly Accessible Charging Infrastructure for Employees in NRW
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports companies and public institutions in the acquisition, installation, and grid connection of stationary, controllable charging infrastructure for employees. The funding covers up to 40% of eligible expenses (20% for large companies), with a maximum of €1,500 per charging point. Applications can be submitted until December 31, 2026; the project duration is up to 18 months. Eligible expenses include charging stations or wall boxes, power electronics, authentication and payment systems, load and energy management, communication components, civil engineering, foundations, installation, commissioning, grid connection, as well as electrical infrastructure up to the parking space including meters and protective devices.
Requirements and Procedure
The basis is proof that the electricity comes from renewable sources (green electricity contract or own photovoltaic system). Installation must be carried out by a specialist company in compliance with the Charging Station Ordinance and implemented at employee parking spaces, whereby company vehicles may also be used privately. Charging points at private parking spaces are excluded. For the application, a cost estimate, online form with PIN, proof of green electricity supply contract or photovoltaic capacity, specialist company certificates, as well as a later proof of use with payment request must be provided. After positive review, the District Government of Arnsberg issues the funding approval. Payment is made after implementation via the electronic proof of use. This funding offer contributes to advancing the expansion of electromobility in the workplace environment and promoting climate protection in companies and institutions.
