Description

The initiative to promote practical work at secondary schools in Bavaria supports public secondary schools in implementing career-relevant projects involving external professionals. Under the guidance of master craftsmen, service providers, artists, company trainers, or vocational teachers, students develop a concrete product or service in the craft, artistic, musical, social, or domestic fields. The focus is on practical work with a direct connection to the working world, aiming to provide early insights into professions and establish contacts with regional companies. Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant from the State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs and can be applied for continuously. Participating institutions benefit from tailored cooperation with local companies, thereby highlighting potential internship and training opportunities.

Primarily funded are personnel costs for the external specialists as well as related travel expenses and reimbursements to municipalities, municipal associations, or other sponsors. Excluded are school material expenses and projects with a predominantly socio-pedagogical or educational-psychological focus, such as addiction and violence prevention or experiential education offerings. Applicant schools submit the corresponding form—depending on the involvement of the State School Authority—electronically or in paper form to the responsible district government. Required documents, in addition to the completed funding application, include the official forms rvs_40.1-212, rvs_40.1-213, or rvs_40.1-012. Applications can be submitted at any time, ensuring flexible planning of career-oriented learning projects.
