Funding of projects within the framework of European Territorial Cooperation - ETC (INTERREG VI)

The co-financing of cross-border and transnational cooperation projects in Carinthia creates new impulses for sustainable regional development and rural innovation. Project ideas are supported within the INTERREG VI-A programs Slovenia–Austria and Italy–Austria as well as in transnational initiatives such as Alpine Space, Central Europe, and Danube Transnational. As a grant, the funding covers up to 15% of eligible costs for cross-border projects and a maximum of 10% for transnational cooperations. The funding period extends from 01.01.2023 to 31.12.2029. Both non-profit organizations, companies, and public institutions as well as start-ups with headquarters or activities in Carinthia are eligible for funding. The support thus promotes the establishment and intensification of partnership networks across national borders and specifically contributes to achieving strategic state objectives in the areas of regional development, development cooperation, as well as agriculture and rural development.

Interested project applicants submit an application with a brief description of the objectives, project partners, and budget share to the responsible department. A prerequisite is that no complete INTERREG application has yet been submitted. The funding rate is based on the contribution to Carinthia’s regional added value and the ranking evaluation by the bilateral committees. ERDF co-financing and all other eligible costs are supported. A detailed project description and proof of the requested budget share are part of the application documents. Submission is possible throughout the entire funding period, as long as no full application for the next application stage has been submitted. This funding strengthens cross-border synergies and sustainably leverages regional potentials along the Alpine-Adriatic region.
