Description
Purpose and Scope of Funding
With the "Promotion of Spatial Planning Development Concepts," the State of Vorarlberg supports municipalities and regional planning associations in the preparation, evaluation, and updating of spatial development concepts at the regional, municipal, or neighborhood level. The starting point is the "Spatial Vision Vorarlberg 2030," to whose objectives the concepts must be aligned. Eligible costs include external third-party expenses – such as fees for planning offices, process facilitation, working group meetings, model construction and surveying costs, as well as costs for editorial preparation (graphics, editing, photography). The funding rate ranges from 30% to 50% for municipal and neighborhood concepts (with graduated supplements for smaller municipalities) and is fixed at 40% for regional concepts. Up to €250,000 of eligible costs can be claimed per funding case. The maximum project duration is 60 months, and applications can be submitted continuously (effective from 12/03/2025, unlimited).
Requirements and Application
A written funding commitment must be obtained before commissioning third parties. Binding stakeholder participation must be ensured in all phases, and the final concept must be approved by the responsible committee. Publication of the approved concept on the respective online platform (municipality/region) is mandatory; a digital copy must be submitted upon disbursement. Multiple funding from other providers is excluded. Only public institutions are eligible to apply. Required documents include the completed funding application form, offers from external specialists, invoices and payment receipts, minutes of the resolution, and the digital development concept. Submission is to be made via V-DOK or email to the Department of Spatial Planning and Building Law of the State of Vorarlberg.
