Funding of specific facilities for health promotion and prevention services

In the federal state of Tyrol, the Department of Public Health of the State of Tyrol specifically supports professional, non-profit institutions with a medical focus that provide health promotion and prevention services. The subsidy is aimed at organizations with at least a regional, ideally comprehensive, presence whose activities correspond to current health policy objectives and clearly distinguish themselves from rehabilitative services. The continuous application process without deadlines allows eligible applicants to submit projects flexibly and according to need. The goal is to strengthen measures that support healthy lifestyles, identify risk factors early, and reach the population through professionally sound awareness campaigns. The funding purpose includes the development of evidence-based concepts as well as the implementation of practice-oriented projects in areas such as physical activity promotion, nutritional counseling, mental health strengthening, and structural prevention.

Personnel and material expenses as well as investment costs are funded, provided their cost-effectiveness is sufficiently justified and demonstrated. Furthermore, specialist conferences, congresses, and project-related events can be applied for within the annual subsidy and accounted for separately. Evaluation criteria include compliance with health policy guidelines, the sustainability of the offering, regional significance, and the non-profit status of the institution. Applications can be submitted at any time without deadline restrictions; funding is granted in accordance with the guidelines for state funds. For the application, the form from the Department of Public Health, a cost estimate for the current year, and a financial statement from the previous year must be submitted. Accounting requires proof of appropriate use of funds based on original receipts; for funding amounts of €10,000 or more, a complete financial statement must be provided. This funding supports the implementation of innovative, impact-oriented prevention projects to sustainably improve the health opportunities of the population in Tyrol and to make a long-term contribution to public health.
