Funding of road and bridge construction projects by municipal construction authorities (RL KStB)

The guideline "Funding of Road and Bridge Construction Projects by Municipal Construction Authorities (RL KStB)" supports public institutions in the Free State of Saxony in the planning, construction, and maintenance of municipal traffic routes. Counties, independent cities, and municipalities can apply for grants for construction and maintenance measures on roads as well as bridges. With this funding, the State Office for Road Construction and Transport (LASuV) aims to ensure a efficient, safe, and environmentally friendly transport infrastructure, thereby taking urban development into account. Through the continuous provision of financial resources, the sustainable modernization of the municipal road and bridge network is enabled, strengthening mobility in all regions of Saxony.

A prerequisite for funding is responsibility as a municipal construction authority, implementation of the project within the Free State of Saxony, and proof of already completed planning and construction preparatory work. Eligible costs include both planning expenses and construction and maintenance costs. For the application, among other documents, the completed application form according to guideline RL-KStB, cost estimates, as well as construction and planning documents are required. Since applications can be submitted continuously, municipal decision-makers benefit from flexible project planning without fixed deadlines. The funding makes an important contribution to developing municipal traffic corridors to be future-proof and maintaining their operational capability in the long term.
