Description

The state funding for the preservation of the architectural cultural heritage in Tyrol supports the careful restoration of listed sacred and secular buildings, as well as archaeological excavations and infrastructural measures in museums of supra-regional significance. Public institutions, interest groups, non-profit associations, renovation committees, and museums in the state of Tyrol can submit applications for grants on an ongoing basis. The objective of this measure is to preserve the historical appearance of public objects and to contemporarily strengthen the museum infrastructure. The funding covers cultural, media, and urban development fields and contributes to the sustainable maintenance and accessibility of the cultural heritage.

Eligible expenses include restoration work on listed buildings, excavation projects, as well as structural and technical modernizations in museums. A prerequisite for funding is proof of public ownership and public use, the heritage protection status of the objects, and the supra-regional significance of the applying museums. For the application, original invoices, payment confirmations, as well as statements from the Federal Monuments Office and the responsible diocese (Innsbruck or Archdiocese of Salzburg) must be submitted. The allocation is based on the legal foundations of the Tyrolean State Memory Foundation, with funding amounts determined according to the effort involved. Due to the continuous submission possibility, funded projects can be implemented flexibly and planned long-term to permanently secure Tyrol’s cultural heritage and present it effectively to the public.
