Description
The funding supports the rehabilitation of landslide slopes and the repair of existing drainage systems on agricultural land in Vorarlberg. The goal is to protect agricultural enterprises from flood damage, preserve the fertility and usability of cultural landscapes, and secure their near-natural diversity in the long term. New installations may only be constructed outside ecologically valuable wetlands. The measure underscores the region’s commitment to sustainable management, climate protection, and the preservation of characteristic cultural landscapes, with financing provided in the form of a grant and applications accepted year-round.
Eligible for funding are recognized water cooperatives and water associations under the Water Rights Act, consolidation communities according to the Land Reorganization Act, agricultural landowners, as well as municipalities in Vorarlberg. A prerequisite is that the areas to be rehabilitated are located in Vorarlberg and that the measures serve exclusively to renovate existing structures. Eligible expenses include all construction measures for stabilizing landslide slopes and the repair or renewal of already existing drainage systems. New installations in ecologically sensitive wetlands are not funded. These guidelines ensure targeted support to strengthen sustainable management practices and contribute to the maintenance of a diverse cultural landscape.
