Description
The German Childhood Cancer Foundation supports application-oriented clinical and translational research projects nationwide in the field of pediatric oncology and hematology with a funding period of two to three years. Seed funding is provided for studies with a GPOH mandate, registry projects, and innovative accompanying research that offer a clear perspective for clinical application in young patients. Funding covers personnel costs, consumables and documentation materials, travel expenses, publication fees, as well as external services such as monitoring and data management; infrastructure costs are excluded. Selection is made through a competitive review process, with criteria including scientific quality, clinical benefit for patients, a transparent budget plan, and alignment with the funding profile. Project proposals can be submitted electronically by educational institutions, non-profit, and public organizations.
Submission deadlines are March 15 and September 15 of each year, with the upload deadline at 24:00 hours. Applicants must submit the application form, general application guidelines, specific guidelines for studies, registries or translational projects, as well as the funding profile and data protection information. Additionally, a scientific CV and evidence of preliminary work are expected. The goal is to optimize care structures and therapy standards as well as to establish new treatment approaches. The foundation thus funds projects that sustainably contribute to improving diagnosis, therapy, and quality of life for children and adolescents with cancer.
