Description

The Free Project Funding of the Zukunftsstiftung Landwirtschaft is aimed at non-profit organizations in Germany that conduct interdisciplinary and holistic research in organic farming, landscape management, as well as species, nature, and environmental conservation. The goal of the funding is the further development of sustainable cultivation and management methods, the improvement of food quality, and the strengthening of multifunctional land use within the special potentials of organic agriculture. The program also supports the dialogue between science, business, and society to set forward-looking impulses for ecologically and socially sustainable land management. Only institutions anchored in German non-profit law are eligible to apply; natural persons and private companies are excluded from funding.

For 2026, funding applications can be submitted up to four times a year: March 15, May 17, September 13, and November 1. Funding amounts range between €500 and €5,000 as a non-repayable grant. Required documents include a fully completed and signed application form, cost and financing plan, proof of non-profit status (tax exemption certificate), statutes, excerpt from the association or commercial register, as well as the annual financial statement or annual report of the last fiscal year. After formal review, the board of the Zukunftsstiftung Landwirtschaft decides on the allocation. This funding offers non-profit organizations the opportunity to implement innovative projects in a practical manner and to make a sustainable contribution to the future of organic farming.
