Description
The Melanchthon Foundation supports talented and morally deserving students from selected boarding and state grammar schools in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia by fully or partially covering school and boarding fees. Beneficiaries include learners from the Landesschule Pforta, the Gymnasium Sankt Augustin in Grimma, the Saxon State Grammar School Sankt Afra in Meißen, as well as the Stiftisch-von-Witzlebensche Klosterschule Roßleben. The funding is provided as a 100% grant and can be awarded for a period of up to twelve months. Social considerations are taken into account in the decision-making process, alongside good performance in core subjects and exemplary conduct in both school and boarding school daily life.
Applications can be submitted at the end of the preceding school year and require the submission of the last two school reports, proof of income and assets of the legal guardians, as well as a confidential personal report by the student co-signed by the school or boarding school management. From grade 10 onwards, a notification regarding BAföG receipt or eligibility must also be included. The Foundation's board decides in agreement with the advisory board after reviewing all documents. Interested private individuals can obtain information directly via the relevant application form of the Melanchthon Foundation and submit the required documentation within the deadline.
