Description

The Guest Performance Funding for Visual Arts of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony offers artists and independent groups an attractive opportunity to sustainably reutilize already developed exhibitions, installations, performances, as well as film and video presentations. With a straightforward online application process, the program supports publicly accessible guest performances in the Free State of Saxony, throughout Germany, and across Europe, with a particular focus on venues in rural areas. Funding is provided in the form of fee subsidies of €200 per participating person as well as organizational cost subsidies of €200 or €800 to cover transport, setup, travel, and accommodation expenses. This enables artistic formats to reach new audiences and ensures that existing projects remain accessible in diverse contexts.

Eligible to apply are freelance and professionally active actors in the visual arts who have already realized and publicly presented their initial presentation. Submissions are possible from January 15, 2026, and must be received no later than four weeks before the planned guest performance date. Prerequisites for funding include proof of the initial presentation, an artistic CV of all participants, information on the organizer’s involvement, and confirmation from the guest performance venue. Evaluation criteria focus primarily on public accessibility, the sustainable utilization of the presentation, and consideration of rural structures in Saxony. A maximum of three guest performances per applicant and up to six guest performances at the same venue per calendar year are eligible for funding. With a funding rate of up to €200,000 in the annual budget, the Cultural Foundation makes an important contribution to the long-term dissemination of artistic works far beyond their place of origin.
