Buildings in Distress promotes the nationwide preservation of historic buildings through the Stiftung BauKulturerbe gGmbH. The program is aimed at non-commercial associations and initiatives committed to the protection and professional preservation of particularly valuable building fabric. It specifically funds consulting services and expert reports to secure the long-term existence of monuments and valuable building structures. With its comprehensive approach, the funding offer combines expertise from the fields of monument protection, infrastructure, and urban development as well as corporate financing, thereby supporting local actors in the planning and implementation of sustainable measures on historic assets.
