Description
Within the framework of the joint task "Improvement of the Regional Economic Structure" (GRW) – Business-Related Infrastructure, the Free State of Thuringia specifically supports investment and development projects to strengthen regional value creation. Funding is provided, among other things, for the development, expansion, and revitalization of industrial and commercial sites as well as their connection to transport and supply networks. Additionally, wastewater treatment plants, tourism infrastructure measures, and vocational training facilities up to business, technology, and start-up centers can be funded. Complementary planning and consulting services for tourism site development as well as regional management and regional budget projects are also eligible for funding. Grants cover up to 60% of eligible costs for infrastructure measures, thereby making a decisive contribution to the realization of future-proof projects.
Eligible applicants are primarily municipal authorities, special-purpose associations, legal entities under public law, as well as chambers and guilds, provided they do not operate for profit. A prerequisite for a grant is a minimum total investment of €50,000, proof of overall financing including an equity share between 10% and 45%, consideration of spatial planning and state development objectives, as well as a clear regional and structural policy interest. Preliminary funding inquiries in the area of tourism infrastructure can be submitted informally by August 31 of a given year for the following year. Applications for regular infrastructure measures are submitted to the Thuringian State Administration Office, while those for tourism projects are submitted to the Thuringian Development Bank. This program model offers public sponsors a reliable basis to effectively advance regional development priorities.
