Description
The Hamburg Participation Fund supports non-profit organizations in Hamburg to sustainably strengthen the participation rights of people with disabilities. The focus is on empowerment: the goal is to enable people with disabilities and their self-advocacy and family organizations to independently and autonomously participate in public decision-making processes. Projects that support the development and expansion of organizational structures, enable qualification and networking opportunities, and promote barrier-free information and public relations work are funded. Expenses for personnel costs, fees, material costs, catering, rent, and administrative expenses are 100% eligible for funding. Up to €6,000 can be applied for per application, and in exceptional cases, up to €20,000 for extensive organizational development and digitization measures.
Eligible to apply are primarily self-advocacy and family organizations as well as initiatives of people with disabilities with headquarters or a focus of activity in Hamburg and recognized as non-profit or charitable. Initiatives without their own legal form can submit applications jointly with a recognized organization. The prerequisite is that the project has not yet started and that the self-empowerment of people with disabilities is central. First-time applications are given priority, and a balanced representation of various forms of disability is sought. The next deadlines are May 20, 2026 and September 15, 2026. Applications are submitted digitally via the BürgerStiftung Hamburg online portal; in addition to the online application, a detailed project description, a cost and financing plan, and proof of non-profit status must be submitted.
