Description
The Free State of Bavaria supports municipalities in the practical assistance of volunteer work in the field of asylum and integration through the establishment of full-time integration coordinators. The aim of this measure is to create reliable framework conditions for voluntary engagement, to strengthen networking among regional actors, and to establish training opportunities for volunteers. At the same time, the recruitment and efficient placement of additional helpers is to be improved. Project positions are funded for a period of up to 36 months with a funding rate of up to 80% of eligible expenses and a maximum funding amount of €130,000 per year. The municipality’s or third parties’ own contribution must amount to at least 10% of the total costs.
Eligible to apply are districts and independent cities in Bavaria that employ full-time integration coordinators. These coordinators should have experience in voluntary work, volunteer coordination, and the care of people with a migration background. Eligible costs include project-related personnel and material expenses, supervisions, event-related organization, training materials for tenant qualification, as well as travel expenses of the volunteers. The application must generally be submitted by November 15 of the previous year to the Government of Middle Franconia (Department 15). Required documents include the application form, an expenditure and financing plan, as well as a proof of use. Approval is granted digitally by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration. Objectives and formal requirements are derived from the currently valid Counseling and Integration Directive.
