Description

The funding program "Assistance in Special Life Situations" provides one-time, non-repayable financial aid as well as food vouchers in Styria for individuals with low income who are experiencing an acute emergency. The aim of the grant is to secure livelihood in the short term and to enable adequate participation in social life. The amount of aid is determined individually and is based on defined assessment criteria to offer needs-based support. Applications can be submitted throughout the year as soon as the emergency arises. This facilitates access to assistance without fixed deadlines and ensures rapid help in urgent cases.

A prerequisite for funding is a credible demonstration of a general or special emergency as well as proof of low income for all persons living in the household. To submit an application, income statements, registration certificates, identity cards or passports, current bank statements, and invoices for payments already made must be included, among other documents. For released prisoners, an additional statement from the Neustart Association or the responsible social welfare office is required. The processing is handled by Department 11 Social Affairs, Labor and Integration of the Styrian Provincial Government. Through continuous funding availability, flexible and unbureaucratic support is ensured, relieving those affected in difficult life situations and helping to overcome emergencies promptly.
