Description
With the IB.SH Broadband funding program, the Investitionsbank Schleswig-Holstein offers a low-interest loan that promotes the comprehensive expansion of a high-performance fiber optic network throughout Schleswig-Holstein. Municipalities, municipal-related local authorities, legally dependent municipal enterprises, as well as special-purpose associations can finance projects at 100% of the investment costs, while companies in the commercial sector, including those with municipal participation, can receive funding of up to 50%. Loan amounts of up to €30 million per project are possible. By combining long-term maturities with attractive interest rates, the program significantly contributes to the modernization of internet infrastructure in both urban and rural areas.
Only investments in the establishment of fiber optic networks are eligible for funding; refinancing models for financial institutions are excluded. A prerequisite for approval is an informal application submitted prior to the commencement of measures. Eligible applicants must demonstrate their registered office or activity in Schleswig-Holstein. Since funds are continuously available, applicants can plan their projects flexibly without being bound to fixed deadlines. The program focuses on infrastructure, digitalization, as well as Smart Cities & Regions, thereby contributing to sustainable regional development in the true north.
