Description
The Dr. Joachim and Hanna Schmidt Foundation for Environment and Transport funds projects nationwide that reconcile conflicts between transport infrastructure, mobility, and nature conservation. As a grant provider, the foundation supports initiatives in the fields of environmental/nature conservation, traffic ecology, smart cities & regions, energy efficiency & climate protection, as well as digitalization. Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, research institutions, start-ups, founders, private individuals, companies, and public institutions that contribute to environmentally sound transport policy with innovative concepts. Additionally, doctoral projects can be supported with a monthly grant of €1,500.
Applications must be submitted as a PDF via email and include a two-page application form along with explanations on up to four additional pages, including a budget framework (maximum file size 2 MB). Applications must be received at least 21 days before the two annual board meetings and allow for a lead time of three months before the planned project start.
