Description

In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the state supports demand-oriented integration initiatives that enable active participation of people with a migration background. Non-profit organizations can receive a grant of up to 80% of eligible expenses to implement psychosocial counseling services, language and communication projects, as well as support offerings for self-help and civic participation. The funding program aims to complement existing migration counseling structures, overcome participation barriers, and strengthen social integration through low-threshold, regional initiatives. Projects that contribute to reducing isolation and place migrants in positions of responsibility receive special consideration. Applications must be submitted by October 31 of the previous year before the project start date.

To apply, proof of association or federation status with headquarters or a permanent branch office in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania must be provided, and the specific need must be confirmed by the respective district or city administration. The measures must be carried out by qualified social pedagogues or social workers. A mandatory own and municipal contribution of at least 20% of eligible costs is required. Exclusion criteria primarily concern internal association offerings or those already funded by other state grants. For the application, among other documents, the funding guidelines, data protection information, as well as forms for project description, expense calculation, personnel costs, declaration on the prohibition of better treatment, and commitment to the free democratic basic order must be submitted. Interested initiatives receive a practical financial basis with this grant to establish sustainable integration structures locally.
