Description
Youth Research Brandenburg promotes young talents in the natural sciences, technology, and mathematics through a statewide competition that equally addresses pupils, trainees, and students. The initiative places a special focus on creative research projects in the fields of mathematics/computer science, biology, chemistry, physics, geo- and spatial sciences, as well as work environment and technology. Regional and state competitions offer the opportunity to present innovative ideas before an expert jury and to qualify for the federal competition. With the aim of strengthening knowledge transfer and technological development in Brandenburg, outstanding achievements are honored and enable networking with companies and research institutions. Through practice-oriented projects and scientific supervision, sustainable learning impulses are created, which contribute in the long term to securing skilled workers in the region.
Eligible to participate are young people from the 4th grade (Youth Research Junior category), young adults between 15 and 21 years old (Youth Research category), as well as students in their first degree up to the 2nd semester. Submissions can be made individually or in groups of up to three persons. Application documents must comply with the official competition rules and are reviewed at the regional level. The Technology Foundation Brandenburg, as a non-profit foundation under civil law, supports this format within the framework of its statutes to promote science, research, and innovative technologies. Awards at the state level recognize particularly forward-looking projects and pave the way to the federal competition. This creative competition sparks interest in STEM subjects, discovers scientific talents, and strengthens the dialogue between young researchers and the regional economy.
