Description
In the Nockberge Biosphere Park in Carinthia, the Carinthian Biosphere Park Fund supports measures that preserve land and forestry practices adapted to the natural environment and strengthen the landscape’s distinctiveness, beauty, and resource conservation. Eligible projects include those in the fields of agriculture & rural development, environmental/nature conservation, and energy efficiency & climate protection. Applications can be submitted continuously and are approved as grants with a funding rate of up to 75% of the eligible total costs. The project duration is a maximum of 36 months. Funding is provided primarily for planning costs, construction costs, and other project-related expenses, provided the measures align with the objectives of the Biosphere Park and are ecologically and economically sustainable.
Eligible applicants include private individuals, sole proprietorships, partnerships and corporations, cooperatives, as well as associations and organizations that are proponents of fundable projects within the Nockberge Biosphere Park. A prerequisite for funding is the submission of an application and resolution by the Nockberge Biosphere Park Committee, as well as compliance with the funding guidelines (in particular points 6.1, 6.5, and 6.7) and the declaration of commitment. Evaluation criteria include conformity with the Biosphere Park objectives, ecological sustainability, economic viability, and the applicants’ own contributions. The application must include a development plan, official permits, financing plan, and proof of authorization to represent in the case of associations/organizations. The deadline has been open-ended since 01.01.2014.
