Co-financing of the INTERREG Bavaria-Austria Program

The funding instrument offers project sponsors from Upper Austria financial support through regional funds to participate in the EU Interreg Austria-Bavaria program. The goal is the sustainable strengthening of cross-border cooperation in the areas of regional development as well as agriculture and rural development. With a budgeted volume of €0.3 million, the co-financing gap between national and EU grants is closed to realize innovative cross-border initiatives. Payments are made after successful accounting verification, accompanied by reporting and, if applicable, on-site audits.

Eligible for funding are public institutions, companies, and non-profit organizations from Upper Austria wishing to participate in the EU funding program INTERREG Austria-Bavaria. An informal application must be submitted prior to the EU application; a written funding request is sufficient as documentation. Co-financing takes effect from 01.01.2025 and applies without a time limit. Through the straightforward application process and clear focus on cross-border cooperation, this offer opens up diverse opportunities for sustainable projects that promote regional synergies in the Bavaria–Upper Austria border region.
